It was worth what?!

Mr. Whetstine bought a “stone” from and amateur rock-hound at an Arizona mineral show for &10.00. The rock turned out to be a sapphire, and not just any sapphire, but the “World’s Largest” sapphire. An appraisal in 1986 valued the stone to be worth as much as $2.28 million (Snopes.com reports that some appraised the stone in the thousands and not millions).
